It's been a low budget year; but the thrift stores often have toys that my macaw loves. Usually made by Fisher Price or PlaySkool, I look for the toys that have electronic music, bells, and whistles or voices, and buttons or keys to push. Chili Verde goes crazy over them and will squawk and walk around and around them, or push them around the floor.
You need to get it home and give it a good disinfecting first, and keep an eye on the bird while playing. These kind of toys (usually for toddlers around 2; perfect!) are practically indestructable but eventually a macaw will get bored with it and find one tiny weak spot and start to chew it apart, and we need to be very careful because of the little battery compartment,so we keep him well supervised.
