When taking an evening shower, I noticed that Chili Verde, my Military, did not want to come down from the curtain rod where he shares a 'shower steaming'. I let him sleep there for several nights until I got tired of yet another mess of papers and poop to clean every morning. He would beg and flap towards the bathroom at bedtime. So I put his large moveable perch in the dark, quiet entryway since that was what he liked about the shower stall and that did the trick. Now every morning he is ready to be picked up to go about his day. He also liked both these spots because they are much cooler and humid than the rest of the heated house. I am always amazed at my cockatiels and finches who go to the outside aviary in all kinds of weather! It always feels so great to discover something new to make my birds happy and was glad to read on this website confirming this.
