New Members please read before posting:
As a member of Macaw Dreams we share the responsibility of presenting ourselves in a positive light. We continue to set a high standard of bird care and are accountable for the future of Macaws.
While we have different opinions and are welcome to share them here, we understand that novice bird owners may turn to us for guidance so we try hard to always set a good example.
We are very careful and responsible when discussing dietary issues and never promote or joke about feeding junk food to our birds.
We do not condone the purchasing of unweaned birds. We are not a breeder's board and do not have the expertise to offer assistance nor support of bird owners who purchase unweaned birds.
We condemn the purchasing of birds for the purpose of "collecting" these animals. We define collectors as those who have had multiple birds in the past, got rid of them and then purchased more to complete their new collection. We define a collector as someone who adds more birds to their flock without consideration of the welfare of their current birds. We define a collector as someone who is willing to trade in or sell one species of bird to purchase another.
We do not allow the advertisement of birds for sale but posts from owners who need to place (meaning up for adoption) their birds are more than welcome.
We understand that our group's administrator has deemed it necessary to prohibit the discussion of any products connected with "Wayne's Bottle Brush." While we may or may not agree with this decision we understand that the group's administrator has made this request and therefor any comments should be directed to the administrator, privately.
We do not allow any outsiders to advertise on our board. We do, however, invite our regular members to share their photos, personal websites and even promote their own bird related businesses and products.
While we can use screen names we also must sign each of our posts with our real first name. This will help us to get to know each other better. Setting up our signature is easy, just go to the top right side of the page and click on Profile. Then click on "Signature" and in the signature box, type in your first name and anything else you want under your signature. Now, your signature shows up automatically.
Posts from this chat board remain the property of Macaw Dreams and shall not be copied and posted elsewhere without the permission of the poster.
If we find this all acceptable, we are now invited to post responsibly. If we are in disagreement, we shall kindly log off.
