Hi,
I am a new member and a soon-to-be new Macaw mamma. My BTM baby girl, Tika, was born 5-2-08! I am patiently waiting for her to be weaned so she can come home. I have spent the last two years preparing, educating myself (and purchasing just about every Macaw item in sight). I am 100% committed to being the best mamma possible. This website is a dream come true for me because I have been unsuccessful in finding local acquaintences who share my passion for these magnificent birds. I felt like a new, expectant mother with no direct family support link. Knowing I can ask important questions and share stories with real Macaw parents is very comforting as I have lots to learn. You have already inspired me to expand my original habitat ideas to include an entire bedroom dedicated for her indoor play room. Tika and I thank you I look forward to learning and growing with my baby.
PS - Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry,This is my first post here and hopefully I will get better at it.Please excuse the one above. Anyway hi Conie I too am about to get my first Macaw,a B&G that is about 7 yrs old.He comes to me from a rescue and I have been able to visit a couple of times. We are so excited. We also have an umbrella cockatoo that we rescued(paid a ransom)and have had for almost 3 yrs.
While I know about parrots in general I am anxious to learn about the many nuances of a Macaw and am sure this site will be a huge help.I look forward to chatting with all of you here.
