Saw this product advertised and wondered if anyone had ever tried anything similar?

It's a piece of flagstone bolted to the side of the cage as a perch. I wondered if it would add a little variety and give the toes a rest. Any reasons why this would not be a good idea?

I saw those too! I don't think that was the website but it's the same concept. I thought they were really cute for small birds such as Finch, Budgies and maybe 'Tiels. They're too small for the big birds and anything larger would probably be too heavy. I sent a photo of these to a friend who has a huge 8 feet outdoor aviary for her finch because I thought it would look so cute!

I'll keep looking for something similar. Julie ate the bed we made her and created a nest out of it. :-(

We have one of those and our bird loves to sit on it, rub his beak on it ect! Definately one of our 'better buys' for him.

Rebecca, what kind of bird? Julie loved resting on her bed and I was thinking in the summer the flagstone would be cool, too. I'm thinking of just trying some plain wood - when she chews it up, we can replace it. I worry about her getting fibers in her nose - she already sneezes a lot periodically (vet checked her and could find nothing wrong) so I don't want to cover it with anything.
