Hi everybirdie,

I still plan to bring Scarlet (Eclectus) into my new office a couple of days per week and want your ideas on a tree. I don't have a lot of room for her so I thought about a table top play stand but I don't
really have anything to put it on.

Store bought trees usually have really large bases so that's not going to work because the office is so small. I'm thinking of making one so I can "custom fit" it to the office.

I have a lot of really nice Mesquite branches saved up and I was thinking of "planting" them in a big pot and when she isn't there the branches will sort of fit in. My office looks more like a flower shop than an insurance agency. ROTFL.

So, what do you think? Any ideas on how to "plant" it? Should I use cement? Or maybe Plaster of Paris?? Or dirt? Or do you think I should go in another direction?

The "tree" will need to be light weight enough for me to move it in the future. Right now she would be sitting in the reception area where I currently sit (photo below) but after I actually hire someone I will move her into my little office so she can sit with me.

Security isn't a problem, it's a really nice little space BUT I still ALWAYS lock the door if I need to go into a back room or if I need to use the powder room.

I'd appreciate any ideas. :)

OH, here's a photo of the reception area. I'm thinking she can sit just to the right of the reception desk or even behind the gate? You can't tell but there's a glass door & windows all along the other side of the wall so she will get lots of light. I'll post more photos under the "people chat".

Humm tough one Angie. I'd try planting those branches in a pot. I think cement would be the way to go, as plaster might crack to easy. If possible attach a eyebolt & stick a boing on it.

You can move the "tree" if you stick it on one of those plant carts that has wheels. I think they also now make pots with wheels attached too.

Toy that's exactly what I would suggest as well. Cement in a pot with wheels or placed on a plant holder with wheels. Angie we have a Manzanita tree I'm planning on doing the same thing to here at home for Marina. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. Please let us know what you come up with Angie and post pics.
