Hi everybirdie!!!!
Let me welcome back all of our members and give a welcome to any new members. As you can see, we finally have a new message chat board. I know the board is a mess right now but I didn't want to wait one more day to get us back up and running.
I will be workiing on the board over the weekend and will have it looking as nice as possible.
I'm sure we will loose some of our members, along the way. We had more than 200:(. But, we will continue to grow.
Look around, check out our new website http://macawdreams.com and let me know what you think.
Again welcome!!!!

Hey way to go Angie . I've been watching for days for the board to come on line. It's a ton of work I know. Great Job .
The home page & articles pages are great. However the pics could be a little bigger. I know it's hard to get the size just right. Once you do tho the rest will be a breeze.
Am looking forward to the rest of the updates.

Hi everybirdie,
I am so glad you all are enjoying the new site. Please give me as much feedback as possible because NOW is the time for us to make changes. Toy, I agree about the photos being a bit small. It's funny because on my home computer they looked huge but on my computer at work, they almost look tiny:(. Changing photo size is actually very easy so I'll do take care of it this weekend:).
As for our new chat board, I sure like the idea that we can see the prior message as we post a new reply. I can't wait until I get this board all set up nicely:).
Take care everybirde, angie

Yes being able to view the previous message you're replying to is a big plus.
Web building programs seem to make those pain in the butt changes you don't want, like the size of pics, color of fonts, etc. Oh well at least we have the ability to do this stuff otherwise we wouldn't be here.
I know you only have the General board up so far, but I think a FAQ section would be great for newbies looking for info. Things like proper cage size, diet, dealing with injuries, travel, etc. It would save allot fo time reposting the same answers over & over.
Angie do you know the Helpful Ideas/Tips board takes you to another forum board of administrators?
Let's see...tossing suggestions here....a board for: recipes, favorite bird supplies/sites, other species, OT (off topic), Alerts/News, are just a few I thought of. I'm sure you have allot in mind Angie.
I also LOVE the larger font. It's so much easier to read.

Good job Angie. Did you use html code to build the site or use a web building program instead?
Let me make a suggestion. The pictures are loading way to slow (I have DSL so it's not a connection issue). You'll need to shrink their file size. For instance, the picture of Skye is originally 1600 pixels by 1200 pixels. That's too high of quality for a web page, if you shrink/reduce it (but don't reduce the size as in height and width), the pages will load much quicker. That will save you on bandwidth as well as help the site finish loading quickly. Also, it would be a good idea to have the pictures link to the corresponding page (like how your links do).
You'll want to add page titles (for browsers), a disclaimer and also a copyright. Did you use any meta tags?
Ok, I'll stop. :D I build web sites so let me know if you have any questions.
Looks good and thumbs up on the work!

Angie - I'm so glad your/were all back and up and running. I LOVE the new site. And the chat board. I am so excited!!! You've done a great job and I'm sure though I don't have any expierence in this area, but someday would love to build a website myself. Perhaps next year.
Anyhow this is totally awesome and I am really excited to be back to connect and look forward to all the articles and information you list and offer.
Again - Great job!

Wow! I haven't checked Macaw Dreams in months, due to life in general, but today for some reason I got the inkling that I should check in and see how everyone is doing....
All i can say is, good job Angie! You've done so much for Macaw Dreams since it started, and I can't believe how it has progressed since the days when it was a simple Yahoo group. Keep up the good work, this group is really great.
