We need your help! The Pennsylvania Game Commission is proposing a ban on Nanday Conures based on inaccurate facts such as disease and threat to local wildlife. The proposal will not grandfather in current Nanday owners and are subject to confiscation and euthanasia.

Four bird clubs from PA are already in the process of writing letters and will be attending the meeting scheduled for Sunday January 27, 2008 in Harrisburg PA.

Also, many will be meeting in York to carpool so anybody who is interested in attending, please email me and I will forward any information you may need. As of right now, no meeting place has been assigned but will be shortly. We have a speaker but still need people for support. Remember, NUMBERS is the key!

There is also a rumore that animal rights activists might be for the ban as well but as far as I know, it has not been confirmed.

If they ban the Nanday (Quakers are already illegal in PA), what's next? Where will it stop? We need to protect our rights as parrot owners, animal lovers and citizens. If we don't watch out for the birds, who will?

Thank you in advance and feel free to email me with any questions you may have!

Sincerely,
Esther Graham
