Hi everyone,

I just want you all to know that I will be away from the board until this weekend. Sadly enough one of my sisters passed away Tuesday.
A few of you may recall that I flew down to see her in New Orleans last year because she was ill. She suffered from kidney damage coupled with a few other problems so this didn't come as a total shock. I'm glad she will not suffer anymore.

My sister was only 50 and was a HUGE, I mean HUGE animal person. Dogs, cats, birds, you name it. As a kid she would come home with something new every gosh darn day. ROTFL.

She's the reason I'm such an animal person in fact she probably is responsible for my bird passion. I remember one time she found a nest that had blown out of a tree. She put it on a windowsill hoping the chicks calls would attract the momma. In the mean time she fed those little chicks around the clock, teaching me how to give them food with an eye drop. Well, wouldn't ya know it, those chicks yelled so loud that Momma AND Daddy showed up!

It was amazing, they had no fear of coming to the window and nursing their youngsters. We were able to watch nature right in our living room. In time we also watched those chicks grow up and take flight. Yep, that was my first introduction to aviculture. I was hooked:)

I'm sure that wherever she is sitting with a dog in her lap, a cat crawling on her shoulders and a bird flying over head. LOL

Hubby will stay at home as I have enough family around me. I want him to take care of MY zoo so I know they are being well taken care of. :)

Take care you all... I'm doing fine so please do not worry about me. Let's catch up this weekend. Each of you are moderators, this is YOUR group so I'm sure you'll welcome new members and take care of each other. Talk with ya soon!

Hi Angie, Please accept my condolences for your loss. I lost my sister almost two years ago, my younger sister. She was 48. It's her two sons I'm raising, along with my 3 boys. Even now, I have moments of total disbelief. Anyway, I really understand. My best to you in these trying times.

Marie

Angie, I know that words can never stop the hurting from the loss of a loved one but know that we all are here.

I just almost lost my sister on Thursday. She was 9 months pregnant & had a seizure at home, lost consciousness, they got her to the hospital, she had another major seizure and we lost her twice. They had to do an emergency C-section. The baby is fine and is home, my sister remains in ICU.

I know what youre feeling, my sympathies go out to you and your family.

Blessings,

Laurie

I'm back. THANK YOU ALL for your kind words and support. I read each of your posts and it meant a great deal to me.

I returned home before midnight Fri. and Saturday hubby got up and fed the birds for me so I could sleep in. I got up around 11:00, took a shower, put the birds in the aviary and fell asleep on the sofa. LOL.

My family and I are doing fine. I'm SO glad to be home with my hubby and zoo. I can't believe how much I missed them. Sammy (GW) came running to me while Malibu (B&G) just sort of looked at me like, "Oh, so you're here huh?" ROTFL. Scarlet (Eclectus) heard me coming down the stairs and when I turned to her she let out a HUGE "HI" it was too sweet!

Thanks again everybirdie. You all are such good friends.

Angie I am so sorry to hear of your loss, your sister sounded like a very very special person. I enjoyed the story about her bringing home the nest of babies and taking care of them, she was a true believer. Take care and know you and your family are in my prayers.
Blessings,

Angie, I am truly sorry for your loss. What a beautiful story you shared about your sister. What a special bond between you two and Gods creation (the Animals). I really loved the bird story. That I will never forget.

If there is anything I can do for You and/or Hubby PLEASE don't hesitate to ask and I mean it! Remember in the midst of all of this, don't forget to take care of Angie!
